Short answer: Clipt is gone, and Syncer covers the same job — copy on your phone, paste on your computer, and the other way around — across Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux. Every clip is end-to-end encrypted, and nothing goes through your Google Drive.
What happened to Clipt
Clipt was OnePlus's free app for sending text, links and files between your phone and your computer. It moved your clips through your own Google Drive, which kept things simple. OnePlus has since discontinued it, which leaves a lot of people back to emailing themselves links.
Why Syncer is a good Clipt replacement
- Every device you own. Native apps for Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux — one shared clipboard, whatever mix of ecosystems you have.
- No Google Drive in the middle. Clips don't land in anyone's cloud storage. They travel sealed through a relay that deletes each one the moment your device fetches it.
- End-to-end encrypted. Clips are encrypted on your device; only your paired devices hold the key. We can't read your clipboard.
- Paste from your phone's keyboard. Your synced clips sit on the Syncer keyboard inside any app, so there's no app-switching to fetch them.
- Searchable history. 7 days of clips, searchable, kept on your device.
Switching from Clipt in a few minutes
- Install Syncer on your phone and computer. Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac or Linux — all free.
- Sign in with the same account on each. A quick email sign-in — no password to remember.
- Pair your devices. Scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code, then approve from the device you set up first.
- Turn on the Syncer keyboard on your phone. The app walks you through it.
- Copy and paste as usual. Desktop copies show up on your phone's keyboard; phone copies go out with one tap.
Text today. Clipt also sent files and photos. Syncer syncs text — links, codes, commands, addresses, notes. Image and screenshot sync is planned, not shipped.
Phone → computer takes a tap. Android 10+ and iOS both stop apps from reading the clipboard in the background, so a copy made on your phone goes out when you tap Sync in Syncer or on the Syncer keyboard. Computer → phone needs nothing: the clip is waiting on the Syncer keyboard.
End-to-end encrypted, so we can't read your clipboard
- Sealed on your device. Every clip is encrypted with XChaCha20-Poly1305 under a clipboard key that only your paired devices hold — before it ever leaves the device you copied on.
- Signal-verified pairing. Syncer uses the Signal Protocol to verify each new device and hand your clipboard key over safely. New devices need explicit approval from one you already trust, and you can revoke any device instantly.
- A relay that only sees ciphertext. Our servers pass along sealed blobs they have no key to open, and delete each one the moment your device fetches it. Anything unfetched expires within 7 days.
- Passwords stay put. Passwords and anything your OS or password manager marks sensitive are never synced — they stay on the device you copied them on.
- Backups only you can open. Optional backups are sealed with a key derived from your PIN using Argon2id and encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Your PIN never leaves your device.

Questions
Is Clipt still available?
No. OnePlus has discontinued Clipt, so if you relied on it to move text between your phone and computer you'll need a replacement.
Does Syncer need Google Drive?
No. Syncer doesn't use Google Drive or any cloud storage of yours. Clips are encrypted on your device and passed through a relay that only sees ciphertext and deletes each clip once your device fetches it.
Does Syncer work with iPhone and Linux?
Yes. Syncer has native apps for Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux, all sharing one clipboard.
Is Syncer free?
Yes. Syncer is completely free right now. A Pro plan is planned for power users later; nothing is charged today.
