Short answer: install Syncer on your iPhone and your Windows PC, sign in, and pair them. Copies on Windows land on the Syncer keyboard on your iPhone, ready to tap. iPhone copies go to your PC when you tap Sync in Syncer or on its keyboard — iOS needs that one tap.
The problem
Apple's Universal Clipboard is great — between Apple devices. Pair an iPhone with a Windows PC and there's no shared clipboard at all, so a link from your PC ends up in an email to yourself, and a code on your phone gets retyped by hand. Syncer gives the two a single, encrypted clipboard.
How to sync your clipboard between iPhone and Windows
- Install Syncer on both devices. Syncer for iPhone and Syncer for Windows — both free.
- Sign in with the same account on both. A quick email sign-in tells Syncer which devices are yours. No password to remember.
- Pair the second device. Scan the QR code or enter the 6-digit code, then approve it from the first device. You can compare the safety fingerprint on both screens to rule out an impostor.
- Turn on the Syncer keyboard on your iPhone. The app walks you through adding it. From then on your synced clips sit right on the keyboard in any app — Messages, WhatsApp, Gmail, a browser, a login form.
- Copy on one, paste on the other. That's it — the clip arrives over a live connection, usually before you've switched devices.
iPhone → computer takes a tap. iOS doesn't allow any app to read the clipboard in the background, so a copy made on your iPhone goes out when you open Syncer or switch to the Syncer keyboard and tap Sync. Computer → iPhone needs nothing: the clip is waiting on the Syncer keyboard.
Text today. Syncer syncs text — links, codes, commands, addresses, notes. Image and screenshot sync is planned, not shipped.
End-to-end encrypted, so we can't read your clipboard
- Sealed on your device. Every clip is encrypted with XChaCha20-Poly1305 under a clipboard key that only your paired devices hold — before it ever leaves the device you copied on.
- Signal-verified pairing. Syncer uses the Signal Protocol to verify each new device and hand your clipboard key over safely. New devices need explicit approval from one you already trust, and you can revoke any device instantly.
- A relay that only sees ciphertext. Our servers pass along sealed blobs they have no key to open, and delete each one the moment your device fetches it. Anything unfetched expires within 7 days.
- Passwords stay put. Passwords and anything your OS or password manager marks sensitive are never synced — they stay on the device you copied them on.
- Backups only you can open. Optional backups are sealed with a key derived from your PIN using Argon2id and encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Your PIN never leaves your device.

Can I copy on Windows and paste on my iPhone?
Yes. Install Syncer on both and pair them. Anything you copy on Windows shows up on the Syncer keyboard on your iPhone — tap it to paste in any app.
Why does iPhone to Windows take a tap?
iOS doesn't allow any app to read the clipboard in the background. So a copy made on your iPhone goes out when you open Syncer or switch to the Syncer keyboard and tap Sync.
Is it safe to sync my iPhone clipboard to a PC?
With Syncer, yes: clips are end-to-end encrypted with a key only your paired devices hold, the relay only sees ciphertext, and passwords marked sensitive are never synced.
