Support

How can we help?

Syncer is a small, independent project — when you email, a real person reads it. Below are the quickest answers to common questions; if you don't find what you need, we're one message away.

Email support

Questions, account help, or anything that isn't working right. We usually reply within 1–2 business days.

[email protected]

Security & disclosure

Found a vulnerability? Report it privately — see our responsible-disclosure process on the Security page.

[email protected]

Because your clipboard is end-to-end encrypted, we can't see its contents — so when you report a sync issue, tell us what you copied in general terms (a link, a code snippet, a file) rather than pasting the actual content.

Getting started

  1. Install Syncer on each device you want to sync — it's available for macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, and Android.
  2. Sign in with a one-time email code, or with Google or Apple. The same account links all your devices.
  3. Pair a new device by scanning the QR code shown in Syncer on a device you've already set up.
  4. Copy something on one device, then open Syncer — or, on your phone, the Syncer keyboard — on another to paste it.

Frequently asked questions

My clipboard isn't syncing between devices

Work through these in order — most sync issues are one of the first three:

  • Confirm both devices are signed in to the same account and both appear in Syncer's device list.
  • Check that each device has a working internet connection — clips relay through our servers in encrypted form.
  • Make sure the item you copied isn't a sensitive item (like a password). Syncer skips those on purpose — see below.
  • Bring Syncer to the foreground on the receiving device once, so it can reconnect, then copy again.
  • Still stuck? Email [email protected] with your platforms (e.g. "Mac → iPhone") and roughly when it stopped working.
Which platforms does Syncer support?

All five: macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, and Android. They all share one clipboard, so you can copy on any of them and paste on any other.

How do I paste from the keyboard on my phone?

The Syncer keyboard puts your synced clipboard inside any text field. On iPhone, add it under Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Syncer, then switch to it with the globe key. On Android, enable it under Settings → System → Languages & input → On-screen keyboard. Tap any item in the keyboard to insert it where you're typing.

How long is my clipboard history kept?

You choose: anywhere from 1 to 30 days (7 by default). Items automatically expire after your chosen window. You can change the retention period in Syncer's settings.

Will my passwords sync by accident?

No. Syncer automatically skips items your device marks as sensitive — such as passwords and one-time codes — so they're never captured. If you deliberately want to send one secret item to a single device, Syncer lets you do that on purpose; it won't happen by accident.

How does the encryption work — can you read my clipboard?

No, we can't. Every clip is sealed on your device before it leaves, and only your paired devices hold the keys. Our servers relay data they have no key to open. For the full technical detail, see our Security page.

I forgot my backup PIN — can you recover my backup?

Unfortunately, no — and this is by design. Your encrypted backup is protected by your PIN, which never leaves your device. We only ever hold data we can't read, so there's no backdoor for us to reset it. If you still have a paired device with your history on it, keep it signed in. As a safeguard, store your PIN somewhere safe and keep at least one device paired.

How do I back up and restore my history?

In Syncer's settings, set up an encrypted backup and choose a PIN. Your history is encrypted with that PIN before it's stored, so the server only ever holds ciphertext. On a new device, sign in and restore the backup with the same PIN.

How do I sign in? Is there a password?

Sign-in is passwordless. Use a one-time code sent to your email, or sign in with Google or Apple — there's no password to remember or store. An account is required so your devices can find and authenticate one another.

How much does Syncer cost?

Syncer is free in early access. Paid Pro features may arrive in a later release; if they do, the core experience stays available and we'll be clear about what changes. See Pricing for the latest.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account from within Syncer at any time, which removes your account and follows the deletion process described in our Privacy Policy. If you'd prefer we handle it, email [email protected] from your account's email address.

Do you track me or sell my data?

No. We don't sell your data, show ads, or build a profile of what you copy. Analytics are strictly opt-in, and we can't read your clipboard in the first place. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Report a bug or request a feature

Found something broken, or have an idea that would make Syncer better? Email [email protected] and include:

  • Your device and OS (e.g. "iPhone 15, iOS 18" or "Windows 11").
  • The app version, if you know it.
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.

The more specific you are, the faster we can help. Feature requests genuinely shape the roadmap — we read every one.
